https://open.alberta.ca/dataset/678b...r-park-map.pdf

OHV's are allowed on designated trails except those North and West of Trail Marker #7.

Just starting to explore this area myself, I think the designated trail system is a great compromise. Allows guys like my dad who can no longer walk long distances to enjoy the back-country. Will have to get damn lucky to get an elk off the main trail but at least he can get out, which is what its all about.

I guess someone will have to get official clarification of what map to use. The quad squad site said they were told the maps are a work in progress and will change as more information is added to them. That remains to be seen.
Bob Creek Wildland Park is not part of the PLUZ, so don't use the PLUZ map to determine park trail access. As others have noted, the Parks link clearly shows the ATV trails which have and remain open.

Beware. Lots of misinformation on this site, as usual. Riling folks up about closures that don't exist.

These guys are saying we do not follow the new Livingston map but follow the Bob Creek Park map. It must be the same for the Castle Park where you use the Castle Park map not the Livingston Pluz map as I saw lots of ATV activity in Castle Park on the weekend which I thought was closed.

Don. Are you exercising your rights as a trapper and using your ATV in the Livingstone PLUZ? How’s your private campground you created at your cabin. Last time I was there you had a dozen trailers parked there. Hypocrisy runs wild in Deep creek.

The map I posted is the same map that is posted at the Bob Creek staging area in the south. Pretty sure Turbo Mulcher is just stirring the pot, the regulations in Bob Creek are pretty straight forward. There is no ATV access off hwy 40 and to access Bob Creek from hwy 22 you need to get permission from the Waldron Ranch as well as the fellow that has grazing rights in Black Creek Heritage Rangeland, he has a lot of Cows in there and showing some respect will go a long ways.

Also want to clarify that ATV's and camping is not permitted in Black Creek Heritage Rangeland, foot access only.

Not at all, but unlike you it's not all about me. There are those with disabilities that like to enjoy the outdoors whether it be hunting, fishing or atving.

Much as he don’t like me.... Ram Crazy totally has a point here.

Oldtimers and disabled should be allowed to quad around. I severely severely doubt they are the type to go bombing around rippin stuff up.

Equity is equity man.

For the regular guy, well ... I’m biased towards physical exertion.

There will come a time where my joints get worn out..... happens to all of us.

Not it's not. Unless you're the rancher who runs cattle in there.

Foot access only. It's plain as day, and on any website you look at. This pertains to the Black Creek Heritage area, not Bob Creek.

From the regulations;

"Heritage Rangelands preserve and protect natural features that are representative of Alberta’s prairies and grazing is used to maintain the grassland ecology. Two heritage rangelands have been established in Alberta - Black Creek Heritage Rangeland in the Whaleback area and OH Ranch Heritage Rangeland near Longview. These lands are cooperatively managed with Alberta Environment and Parks and grazing lease holders. Hunting is permitted, however entry is subject to grazing lease access conditions. For access conditions please visit aep.alberta.ca, select Recreation and Public Use, then select Recreation on Agricultural Public Land."

http://aep.alberta.ca/recreation-pub...d/default.aspx

Went down and met the leaseholder a couple weeks ago, no OHV use permitted in Black Creek.

The moderators of this forum should really start cracking down on the ***** disturbers who just post random crap without doing any research.

Again - here is the map for the Bob Creek Wildland Park and the Black Creek Heritage Rangeland.

https://open.alberta.ca/dataset/678b...r-park-map.pdf

There is a designated ATV loop in Bob Creek, there are no ATV trails in the Black Creek Heritage Rangeland, except the two isolated fragments west of the trailheads that lead to Bob Creek.

Happy scouting all.

You can use any wheeled mode of transportation as long as it’s not motorized.

The entire thread pertains to motorized vehicles. If you want to take rollerblades or a bicyle in there, have fun.

Boah seems like a guy that would take rollerblades into the backcountry, at least he would argue that he's allowed too.

The regs say only non motorized bikes can be used on the bike trails so I guess there goes my idea about using these new electric bikes they are selling.

we biked in there last year. so long as it's dry, no problems. if it's wet, the ground gets muddy and impassable by bike, even with 5" tires.

We were about 10km north of the south lot, never saw any elk though. Lots of moose and mulies.

I was in there a few years back, had lots of snow opening weekend, wet groose snow ontop of not froze ground. Was a slog fest.
Still was a great trip, we had horses so that helped.
Saw elk, but I never got one. Lots of moose, but you have to be P10 or so to draw, long bloody ways to haul a moose out anyway.
Lots and lots of hiking, was as many miles on my boots as going sheep hunting thats for sure.
