Default Chain Lakes / Calling lake

Hello, I'm heading up this way in the next few days and am gonna try to do some ice fishing. Just wondering if it's safe to drive on either of these lakes yet or should I bring a quad along... Also how has the fishing been? I usually go for walleye at calling but wouldn't mind trying for some rainbows at chain. Thanks in advance.

Thinking of heading to Calling either Thursday or Friday, haven't been up there yet but from other posts it sounds like 15-16 inches of ice, guys are driving on.

I'll be up at Calling at the Cabin in the townsite if you want to PM me. I have a bunch of people coming out and we are planning on going deep water after whitefish during the day for an experiment.

Burbot should be good after dark in the shallows, as well as walleye.
