Default Anyone been to grotto?

Anyone been out to grotto? Or does it get fished to heavy in the summer?

Talking about Grotto Mountain Pond by Canmore? Do fish survive the winter in there? It's very shallow, and heavily fished (as you mentioned). I've never even considered trying.

Ya I was thinking of trying it. Didn't have a clue about the depth though. Maybe it's a waste of time

Actually if I recall when I had my pontoon there I recalled a pretty deep hole .

Tried 3 different times a few years back, nothing nada not one show on the camera or on the fish finder

I think they are pretty well fished out by the Sept weekend. Also tried Gap down the road but again no success.

there is still lots of fish in grotto, the only thing i notice is that the fish in that lake is in my mind some of the most stubborn bitters.

grotto is terrible fished once with gf when driving by caught nothing but fingerlings and have never been back. way better places to fish.

If you want to fish the area .... Gap lake has some beautiful fish. The record rocky mtn. white comes from there. I have caught some large browns there during open water. Might be good thru the ice.
