Default Advanced Polls

Went and voted at advanced polling station in Edmonton Strathcona. Busy place this morning with a steady stream of voters moving through the stations.

Did you vote in an Advanced Poll? We’re they busy?

I voted on Saturday in Strathcona too and the place was empty.

Voted in Lethbridge the other day, I was the only one, at first I didn’t like that I had to show my I’d 3 times to three different people but I guess it’s good in the long run. Can’t imagine a busy place doing the same thing.

I was surprised you could vote on a Sunday. We are progressing.

I voted at a Scouts Hall in Calgary Centre riding, it wasn't busy but there was a steady stream of people. No lines was nice. The hall even had a real wood fire going which made the place smell nice.

I skipped the advance polls and just went into an elections office last week and voted at my leisure......Does not matter where your riding is, you can vote at any of them...

I went and voted today as well, couldn’t take the anticipation any longer!
I told the elderly lady at the ballot box that I would be back to do it again next week but she didn’t seem to find the humour.

People on facebook are claiming that liberal voting booth employees are smudging out the paper conservative x's and remarking them liberal.

They are saying to take pens to vote.

I could never understand why we need to use pencils, it makes sense that it is for tampering but you would have to think the penalty would be fairly stiff? Mind you nobody goes to jail anymore, so who knows.

Funny you mention that, a friend in ontario had posted a big rant about pencils in the voting booths and not pens, apparently she made a stink until someone finally gave her a pen.

I just assumed the pencils were used just like they did on those “scantron” sheets we had to use in school. Everything from the CCAT tests back in the 80’s to lots of university finals had to be done in pencil.

I was amazed how many were on the ballot in our riding. Lots of independents that I’ve never heard of before.

News feed said there have been 2 million voters already at advanced polls. That’s crazy if you ask me. Hopefully that means people are eager and want a change.

Wife is out of the country next week so we voted in Sherwood Park on Sunday. The place was completely empty except for ourselves. Hope there is a good turnout on the 21st!

Default dinner hour last night

thought that might be the best time to go but although not long line ups in chestermere there were definitely 3-4 people ahead of us and every station looked the same with small fast moving lineups.

Thumbs up

Largest advance poll numbers in our riding ever!
And, the preliminary results are the Cons are in the lead here!
Considering we're on the Island, in a general EnDeep riding, that is saying a lot!
Let's hope it is a country wide trend!

Cheers,
Nog
