Big buddy. Has a fan and can be turned to low medium or high. Worth it.

18,000 warms things up faster, then turn it to what you want.

Depends on your budget, I guess. The Big Buddy (4,000/9,000/18,000 BTU),
is more versatile and can be used for other things as well.

It never hurts to have extra heating capacity.

The size of the Big Buddy is a factor to me. It’s simply too big for me and the set up I have. I find it’s just big enough to be a nuisance to deal with. While 2 little buddies suit me fine and pack easier for me. But I walk a lot, you may do fine with the big heater.

That said, you don’t need 18000 btu s in a hunting blind. I really only have 2 heaters because I take the grandkids a lot, I rarely use both when I don’t have young kids with me.

4000-9000 btu buddy heaters are on sale at CAN tire for $114 right now. Buy a filter and a hose hook, it up to a 10 or 20 lb’r and you’re good to go.

We heat a 6’x6’ insulated blind with one of these, and come mid day at even -20 we are switching it to pilot light only, for 20 mins every hour.

No one ever regretted having too much heat available on a cold day. Lots have regretted not having enough.

I ended up with a free 9000btu unit when Amazon was advertising the 18000btu unit and shipping the 9000btu unit. If I have to pay for it, I would get the 18000btu unit.

Get the Big Buddy. In my insulated 949i Eskimo tent in -30 the extra btu's and fan are darn nice.

And as mentioned before get the hose and the filter and use a 20lb bottle. Lasts a long time.

I'd agree with most of the comments so far - get the bigger one - and, at the end of the day, it's not a whole lot larger compared to the smaller unit but is capable of throwing a whole bunch more heat if you need it and has a fan to circulate it - which is a huge benefit to getting the entire blind comfortable.

Go big or go home. You'll never regret having to much unless it's problems in life lol

Running off a bulk tank and a hose without the filter usually gums up the heater ports so bad the heater will quite working.
I’ve heard it’s the odourant in the propane that attacks the rubber in the hose.

The fan on the Big Buddy makes it worth it.

Without a fan you pretty much have to sit right next to the Little Buddy to feel any warmth.
