Nope it's now at another mechanics shop......so far I'm only into it for the cost of a tow as the first mech didn't charge me cause he couldn't fix it...and I owe him a few hours of trade labour. This new guy thinks he can solve it but I have my doubts.

The most fun part of AO is inside the threads asking for advice you will find your answer. But nobody actually reads other peoples responses, especially after asking for advice.

2007 Silverado 3500 HD 6.0
2007 Sierra 2500 HD 6.0
Customer Concern: Starts and stalls. PRNDL does not indicate. Interior was washed out since it was muddy with a garden hose and may have got something wet somewhere.
Average Reported Mileage: 180000
Tests/Procedures: 1. With a scan tool, check communications with several computers on the truck.

2. If there is a communication problem, disconnect the air bag module under the driver's seat 1st.

3. If it still has communications issues, locate the splice pack JX221 by the parking brake and disconnect modules from the splice pack one by one until communications are restored with the rest of the modules.

4. Verify the data line wiring and replace the module that was inhibiting communications.

You know, I did that a couple of times with a new truck's floor, assuming the rocker panel covers were nice and water-tight to the vinyl floor.

A year later I was tracing wiring and tore off the covers easily by hand. All sorts of corrosion was underneath in the rocker panel channel. Who knows how long all that water sat in there. Luckily there weren't too many wiring connections down there in the cable tray to get corroded.
