I already picked it....my 7-08....

Actually....my 7-08 is at the gunsmith right now and has now officially been reamed out to 7-08 Ackley Improved....

Why do I like my 7-08? It has all the power needed for all Alberta big game, its a pleasure to shoot, it has a variety of bullet choices, its cheap to shoot and reload for, long bbl life, and I'm a sucker for short actions...

I've owned several cartridges including the 30-06, 25-06, 284Win (a runner up for my favorite), 7RM, 30/30, 303Brit, 303Sav, 260Rem....they all do the trick, but I gotta stick with what I'm happy with now and cant complain or find any fault on the 7-08....

But then again, its all personal, so I'm sure we'll have a vast response of cartridges for sure....oh and you're missing a PILE of really solid cartridges on the poll IMO...

None of the above, simply because I hunt everything with smaller calibers.

IF I were to hunt Gizzly, it would be with my 9.3X74R.
The majority of my huntng is done with 6.5 calibers.

Use what you got. I use a 416 Rigby for everything. 8 seasons now. Very happy

Yep Big Gaps! 25-06 and 284 deserve mention but good Idea good to see the result.

300WSM was my pick but all the 300 less the RUM are so close.
