Default Oldman River Fishing Spots

Greetings,

Just wanted to find out if there are any good fishing spots along the Oldman River in Lethbridge or slightly outside the city limits that produce good results.

Thanks

Default Lots of spots

Hey bud,
There are a few choice spots for pike, eyes, sauger and goldeye around Indian battle park. Just drive down into the coulée by the Wendys downtown. The bridge and wier are both good choices but look around, it is a big river with a lot of spots. For trout get out North of the city or near paradise canyon. Good luck and for your own sake put em back (dirty river that far south).

anyone know any spots near the trunk road and down to 22? took a peek at it and dropped a few lines in the past, and not even a nibble, but saw a monster rise a couple times, just teasing me though it seems!

Thanks for the response. I's been too hot to fish and there were alot of tubers on the river by the bridge. I am also considering to try the river by Monarch, there is that big valley there and I noticed the river is calmer and there are a few spots that would produce some fish. I will try it out when it gets cooler outside. Any thoughts on that location, btw?

You may find a few trout up there, as well as whitefish and some pike I am sure. Not sure how many walleye/sauger there are above the weir. Let us know how you make out.

Default Nice goldeye

Hey Loki, nice goldeye. I was under the pedestrian bridge by Indian Battle Park and got some there tonight. As for eating that would be only for the brave. I think that one is about as big as you are likely to find them but I hear there are some bigger guys out there. Huge pike inhabit the same waters too, look out for them. Huge as in 40" plus, that might be bad news on a flyrod. Good you picked it back up again.

New to Lethbridge, tried twice at the train bridge and at the pedestrian bridge below Whoop Up Drive. Slip sinker rigs with minnows, spoons, jigs, Rapalas, etc. Nothing! Haven't been skunked on the same body of water back to back times in my life.

Any recommendations?
