Default Archery antelope

I got drawn for my first antelope archery tag this year and was wondering what strategy works best. Do you guys like to use decoys or blinds or spot and stock?

Hi DS,

I greatly prefer hunting them using a decoy, i find few things more exciting than when they commit and charge in.

Honestly, regardless of the method you choose, the best thing you can do is get out there and start securing permission ASAP. scout the areas and it will pay off.

Best of luck to you, we expect some pics posted !!

I got drawn on Sask side just east side Alberta border. Could not believe my luck to get draw tag as there is a lot of super A applicants here as only been draws think last 3years. Going to do archery first Sept 1 to 19 so should get in a bit of rut .muzzleloader is Oct 1 to 19. Think rifle Nov 1 to 19. A liberal hunt season but only interested in arch and muzzleloader.

Decoy. Move in as close as you can (100 yards or closer) without getting seen. Pop up decoy and grab your bow. Works best with two, someone to range for you. They come in fast. If you get busted don't even bother, move on.

Good luck you are going to have fun. Bring lots of arrows.

Decoy’s for sure. Be patient on the stalk and let the herd get used to your “decoys” as you creep in slowly. A buck will usually come check it out. May take a few hours but is very effective.
