Go back and read my first post on the first covid thread. COVID IS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT JUST WAIT TO SEE WHATS REALLY GOING ON. This was long before I even spent the weekend at my buddies cabin with his friends. Again, you can spin this however you want, racists, fringe groups, gullible naive rednecks, it’s you who has the blinders on.
A socialist agenda by socialist politicians is not a conspiracy.

What is sad is seeing some of the conservative movement getting bogged down in ficitional conspiracies and spending time and effort chasing down rabbit holes to the enjoyment of Russian troll farms and socialists.

What conservatives need to do is present clear, concise and fact based plans to sustain and build our economies back up while mitigating disasters that do come up from time to time.

When conservatives start posting about world conspiracies including some key Jewish names and with striking similarity with many racist conspiracies...it totally takes the wind out of common sense. It feeds the left ammunition to get even more frantic and they now have the strongest ammo in the political world.

Fear.

Troll farms feed fear in all the conspiracies and fake news. Great for destabilizing our democracy. It compounds when good people swallow the crap dished out with just enough fact that the intricately woven story seems to be true...insofar it is so crazy that it has to be true.

Why would someone ever make up a crazy bizarre theory?

Because they make money. They make money on YouTube videos. They make money on advertisement. Some even have online stores to make money off the gullible.

I could invent a plausible and completely unverifiable conspiracy. Just like passing a whisper slowly around a large circle of people ends up with something completely different...people take these conspiracies and look to find anything that can help it make sense. At the same time they ignore everything that screams the opposite. It is human nature to make up a story what what scares them and what they do not understand.

Theories evolve over time, new information replaces old, back in the day the Rothschild's were world leaders in financial circles, today they are bit players.
A while back I listened to an interview with Bari Weiss about her book. She pointed out that a majority of what we think of as contemporary conspiracy theories are either rooted in an anti Semitic ideas or are repackaged versions of centuries old ones. I thought that was kind of absurd at first but when you take a second look she’s pretty bang on.

Easy one; The Rothschilds secretly control the IMF and are manipulating the current crisis to put us in debt. That’s obvious.

More difficult; Democratic politicians are using the basement of a pizza place in Washington DC to sell children and extract something from their blood so they can drink it. Less obvious, but if you look at Blood Libel and the events surrounding Simeon of Trent in 1475 tell me you don’t see the same story. You can see it again in the online propaganda machine used by Russia to justify the Ukraine invasion with children being “crucified”, etc.

These conspiracy guys recycle old crap more than modern tv writers rehash Shakespeare.

Now I don’t know if we should attribute this to an effort on behalf of some to spread a veneer on top of real hate or if it’s more a matter of repurposing old stories that catch eyeballs. As such I’m reluctant to level an accusation against anyone for real anti Semitic intent because I think most of them probably miss the correlation. However i do think it’s reasonable to draw attention to it when you see it, so many of these “new” ideas are just old recycled hate.

I agree that at least some of this started from anti Semitic bias, I've already said that.

I just don't think most average people today understand that and I don't think every conspiracy theory springs from those ancient roots.

Nice deflect but you still haven’t addressed the new world order. You have no problem accusing my friends as being racist, you have no problem calling me a crackpot, yet you won’t admit to the truths that I’ve been referring to. You won’t even acknowledge them.

It’s impossible to have a debate with you when you only hear what you want to hear. Blah blah blah conspiracy theory, blah blah blah anti Semitic rhetoric, blah blah blah internet trolls, blah blah blah I know everything......

What about the fact the world bank and bank of Canada are promoting a krypto universal banking system because of covid?

Blah blah blah conspiracy theory, blah blah blah anti Semitic rhetoric, blah blah blah internet trolls, blah blah blah I know everything......

Ok, well maybe my friends aren’t racist but they have a better understanding about what’s going on than you?

Blah blah blah conspiracy theory, blah blah blah anti Semitic rhetoric, blah blah blah internet trolls, blah blah blah I know everything......

You totally miss the point. You have something rooted in your brain as fact that isn’t but maybe even subconsciously look to find validation in everything.

Technology changes. Behaviours change. We once only used shells for currency. Then hammered metal. Then refined metal. Then credit cards. Then cloth or paper. Then plastic currency. Then EFT. Then bit coin. Now crypto currency is present. Should Canada ignore it or work to incorporate it.

Is that a conspiracy or just common sense.

Now in your buddies panic room between darts you can all pat each other on the back and concur everything you see points to a secret group trying to take over the world. However...there is no proof. Can’t be proved. But in you head it is unmovable in fact.

I can’t change it. Just point out the fact that if you only value weird scenarios to prove your point while ignoring the obvious....

And is the internment camps in Canada fake news? I honestly don’t know.

Let’s look on the bright side. We can both agree Trudeau is bad for Canada.

Trump said tonight that the US is doing well on excess mortality.

And that predictions were of 2 million but only 200,000 have died.

I believe pence also mentioned the 2 million potential deaths too.

The 2 million figure is interesting as I don’t think either raised that number as a possibility months ago yet they were clearly told that.

I guess with the US infection rate beginning the predicted autumn spike the truth is starting to become obvious. Time to start building more field hospitals.

Not sure at all if its happening but its been quite the opportunity for anti-American terrorist organizations to spread economic damage in the US, assisted by all those that refuse to step up and do their part to kill the virus.

Meh approach the same as every other year and it will be about the same. Hospitalizations year over year aren't much different especially when normalized over last 2 decades and considering the rapidly declining overall health in American population.

Do you mean all those field hospitals that weren't even really used? Some didn't even treat a single patient. There usage was miniscule. But actually I have heard of places before doing that but not very often as usually they would transfer patients alot more to relieve certain hospitals etc. However with Covid they didn't want to transfer as readily as they were naturally scared of transfer between hospitals.

https://www.militarytimes.com/news/c...-be-shut-down/

There is lots of info showing that even at the peak they were barely used.
Once again hospitalization rates right now are typical for the season as are death rates.
Death rates spiked slightly, like very slightly in the spring for northern temperate climates, but are now back to normal. Also excess death rates were very low in 2019. Anywho I have provided stacks of data for you to sift through before and you have never answered me or the data. So while I do respect you and the knowledge you have I don't think you are objectively looking at the data at all. Cheers

Remember when they docked the USNS Comfort at port in New York city, the "epicentre" of the "pandemic"? It was shipped home on April 21st as Cuomo said it wasn't needed.

Field hospitals.....sure

Been a piece circulating on a gov't employee talking about the Libs having a plan for internment centres, no names attached, no corroboration, it could be very true by the look of this, tenders are out for them;

I wasn't aware of that, or the one field hospital but okay.

I don't see it happening here, and here is all we need be concerned with.

We know from reports that there was problems in New York city back in the sprong, they didn't happen here. So why would we need to build field hospitals just because they are?

Not using the field hospitals or the ship was due 100% because New York completely shut down to stifle the spread and get it under control. Fortunately it worked.

It was a result of the successful intervention that additional facilities were not needed. It was a positive sign that those measure worked.

Some people are confusing the cart comes after the horse.

The virus didn't go away without intervention. There was MASSIVE intervention. If nothing was done...give the trajectory that the hospitals beds were getting filled... wow. It would of been grim.

Now I am not so sure they will be needed. Why? Because a lot has been learned about treating the virus and areas are being more cautious of infecting the most at risk. Plus hopefully enough people are taking it seriously and being cautious. Wearing masks. Keeping clean. Social distancing.

It is a dammed if you do...damned if you don't.

In public...it is often the same group that complains we prepared a field hospital at the Peter Lougheed and then never used it...would of complained we weren't proactive fast enough and should of had it built had it really taken off in Calgary.

When you see a sheet storm coming you start planning where to go to get out of the way...if you are smart. Not after the fact.

That being said...as mentioned. Albertans seem to be doing pretty good...however when you look around the world and compare to the last major pandemic (namely the Spanish Flu) it would seem the levels of infection are far higher in the Fall following...than at the start. The proof is all around the world right now. Many countries are far exceeding their initial peaks.

Its craziness in places like France that has heads shaking. Youth gathering by the thousands trying to get infected on purpose.

You would be wrong, so very wrong!! Not using the field hospitals and the USNS Comfort was 100% due to fact that initial infection estimates were WAY off. Look at Alberta, predicting 800000 infected in a short time frame.
The big question is WHY were those estimates so high.....hmmmm......

The models low end didn’t expect the mitigation’s measures to work so well

Wearing of masks became mandatory on April 17th in New York city. USNS Comfort's mission was announced it would come to an end on April 21st.

Dang, those masks sure did the trick. Next...

The effectiveness of the mitigation measures on the Covid curve is anecdotal at best. Some farmers believe planting their crops when the moon is just past full. Step on a spider and it will rain. Break a mirror and you will get 7 years bad luck. All of these have the same amount of evidence to back them up.

Read the article , they expected 800000 with the measures in place. That was the reason for all the shutdown. With no measures in place they expected double. The whole point was to not overload the medical system. Quit moving the goalposts.

Modelling suggests as many as 800,000 COVID-19 infections could sweep Alberta, Premier Jason Kenney says

And some believe condoms slow the spread of sexually communicable diseases..... but I guess that's just anecdotal as well
