to have my chessie ready for fall goose season
to be able to spend a week long mixed bag (geese, ruffies, deer, ducks) hunt with my daughter and grandson
other then that just enough time to get out and enjoy the great outdoors one more fall

I want my sheep hunting buddy to get his ram. He was with me this year for our first and only ram in 16 years. We have passed on many just legal Rams. I'm hoping he puts a monster on the ground.

Keep saying I'm going to replace the old worn out weatherby but still fills tags my dreams that monster I've been after will survive winter just to see him alive again

Elk. #1 most important thing is my first elk. I know it's hard to accomplish, and i can't guarantee putting one down, but I just want to be able to say I tried my hardest. So getting into great shape is on the must do list for me as well. Oh and also get out shooting a ton as well! (the gophers are going to have a terrible summer).

For gear I want:
a good camo/hunting jacket,
A havalon knife,
A rain cover for my backpack,
A scope for my 22 (to punish the gophers with)

Like others have said, another year to be able to hunt. Getting two new knees this year so that might not be not be happening.
However, if all things are a Go, then I'd like one more Moose Draw.

Default Predator caller

I would love to upgrade my FoxPro Crossfire e-caller to a newer Fusion. I love my Crossfire. It works great and does everything I need. My only issue is that my old guy eyes would really like the upgrade to the TX-1000 remote!

I have to agree Tatonka2. Due to injuries I was unable to get out much this year and sure missed it. Hoping to make up for it next year.

But you did manage to get your cow elk and load it up while on crutches bud!!

That's amazing!
I doubt anything will stop you from hunting bud!

And I promise to get you out into the goose patch next season for sure!

You got tonnes of hunts left!

SNOW SNOW SNOW

I love hunting in snow

Getting into the field next season and help my Son/hunting partner get a deer. He has a couple of deer under his belt. But gave up this past season because I was not able to make it out with him.

Cancer diagnosis for me mid September and it knocked me down for October,
I could not climb a flight of stairs or even get to the truck without a 10 minute breather before climbing in. No way I could go out. Many friends and family volunteered to take him out, his reply , no way dad you are my partner.
If you cant make it out neither can I, we will get out next year. He had his antlered mule deer draw and next year would mean no buck for a while.
I have a 50 % chance to draw antlered mule deer next year he will be 17 and if I draw will partner him and help get his buck.
Cancer is a bitch, it not only takes you for a ride but all your loved ones also.
Mid January scans will provide the good or bad news

But that is my top want for hunting 2017

Sorry if this is a downer, took me a while to post this, lots of good wants on here

Thanks
Don't want to derail the thread , but I am cautiously optimistic.
Weirdly enough the chemo has made me feel way better and by December almost normal again.

Thanks again

A few AO members and I booked another New Mexico Antelope hunt and also sent in the deposit for an Audad hunt. I really enjoys chasing speed goats last year.
Gear wise I got what I need for now.
I also want to get my kids into some good whitetails this next year and will spend more time at it.

For me, it will be shooting over my new black lab. I type this as she is sleeping in her kennel (7 weeks this past Tuesday). Second night, already sleeping 5 hours without a peep in the kennel, smart girl and can't wait to get basic training started in a few weeks with her. So excited for that first retrieve.

Hang in there MAC, you have the right attitude to be a winner.
I am a strong believer in the value of mental toughness and it sounds like you have it. Best of wishes for a happy and healthy 2017.

A big black bear with muzzle loader. No back up. And a big deer. Havent shot anything bigger than 160s yet and havent even shot a deer because they are not bigger than that in maybe 5 years.

I hunted SOMETHING nearly every day from Aug 25 until Dec 19 this year. I think I had maybe 10 days not hunting. I got to see some amazing animals fall and a few more getting the upper hand. To wish personally for a better 2017 is not realistic. I guess if I had to specify, I'll go ahead and wish to see someone in my group take the biggest of something that they ever have. In fact I hope they get something bigger than my biggest of whatever and juice me relentlessly for it. That'd be cool.
