Default What's top of your hunting want list - 2017

Close enough .... what's at the top of your want and wish list for hunting next year .. new rifle , knife , scope , binos , boots etc .. We all do it and think about it , that's what makes hunting fun ...lol
For me it's
new- hikers that are actually waterproof
new -rifle in a 300WSM .. saving for

maybe a change of cartridge ??

Binoculars. Been hunting the last four years without and I'm really developing an appreciation of their significance!

Gearing up for my first season going after sheep! Picked up some new lowas and a Kimber Montana in 25-06 to kick it off.

A new hunting buddy --- I have a new pup so hopefully work through the winter to get the obedience down solid, retriever work through the spring / summer and just maybe a gun dog that will be just shy of a year for the fall.

Cabelas just had a good deal on the hellfire. Sold out online but you may be able to find one in store. I'm to cheap and went with a mouth call. The duel predator dominant howler has worked really well for me.

I would like to fill a tag... it's been a while since I've had any venison in the freezer.

Better knives. First deer this year and it was awkward to say the least.

Probably a quad. Used honda 350 or 400. Although I have only driven a quad a couple times it would be nice to get back in the bush a little and then start walking lol!

I have a list about a mile long of what I'd like. The thing I need most right now though is boots. Mine are about 7-8 seasons old. They're no longer waterproof. The tread still looks brand new, but the suede is getting pretty beat up! And the seams where the sole meets the body of the boot have separated. But, a new bow, and accessories are on my wants list. As well as more camo, and my antelope archery tag. And......and........

I have some Lowa's for sale. Size 10.5, Tibet Hi GTX. Only used for one week, very little walking.

Always an iffy one for me as well !
That being said , one should never stop planning, and my hammer 20 fir next year should be arriving in Canada shortly !
Hopefully I will be able to hunt with my son more than I did last year.....

I want to do a wild boar hunt. In a fenced area, I don't care. I just want to kill a big tusker with my .444 Marlin and make some awesome bacon.

I want to have / take the time to do alot more preseason scouting. This will make me better prepared to use the little time I can take off to have a fun season and a few successful harvests.

I want that 450-500 lb black bear that frequents our area, and one of the 3 nice bucks that eluded us this year.
Don't need any gear, well maybe a meat grinder.
And I want 60 days in the field in 2017, Did 44 this year and 46 year before.

Time.

I am blessed that I have a good job and that it has been extremely busy. It has, however limited my time in the field ........... here's hoping for 2017. Should get some decent draws, hopefully I can take advantage.

#1 - The financial ability to spend nearly every day out doors or hunting.

Realistic #1 (& 2) - light weight rifle, and good quality hunting pack.
