Default havalon knives

Hats off to Havalon for their customer service.

A few weeks ago I found that my 2 year old havalon knife had some screws fall out of the handle. So I gave them a call to see if I could get the size of screw for replacement. They asked for a picture of the problem and my address. Two weeks later brand new replacement arrives no questions asked. Needless to say I was very impressed with their service. Its nice to see that there are companies that back up their products.

That's interesting . I have a Havalon knife that the handle cracked and I took it back to where I bought it looking for warranty and was told they couldn't do anything for me

Well I called them today and they asked me to send them a photo of my broken knife along with my address so they could ship me a replacement. I was pleasantly surprised by their response.

Well that is great customer service ............
but would rather have a knife with a handle that is not easily broken and the screws do not fall out. For me the fact that they would rather replace than repair say a lot of what I should expect from their product.

For a couple years I have been using an Outdoor Edge product. Not as surgical looking as the havalon but easier and safer to install blades and is built in such a way that I do not expect problem.

Touch wood!

PS My Outdoor Edge is only one of several knives I carry.

Well I just received my new Havalon Paranta in the mail today . I couldn't be happier with the customer service .Maybe not the greatest materials in the handle on this model but at least they stand behind their product.

I lost my piranta last year so I happily bought a new one this year. Takes no effort to cut anything and I skinned my deer out in less than 10 mins with minimal effort in the back of my truck.

I bought another one for a Christmas gift this year.

Outdoor edge has good customer service as well. I called them about my swingblaze not holding an edge so they sent me a new updated version

I don't know about the rest of you but I don't ever plan to hunt big game ever again without one in my pocket, I still pack a regular hunting knife too. But haven't used it in 3 years. Tough to break the old habit

Default 2 Moose 1 blade

Once you get used to it it is a great knife.

Broke a few blades getting it figured out. Took a few stitches too.

I throw the blades away dull now. Best knife I have ever owned.

No problems with it but glad to know they stand behind their stuff.

Have you ever tried sharpening them? I know that they're pretty inexpensive but sharpening is still cheaper considering that we all have a sharpener or two kicking around.

I use the Outdoor Edge Razor Lite. I have never tried to sharpen from completely dull because I have never got one to that stage. For the most part the blade just gets greasy and a quick change freshens thing up a bit. When I get home I will wash and clean my knife. It is usually still very sharpe, but if not it responds well to a steel or my diamond stix.

I have a few of the smaller Havalon knifes around my shop, I don't bother trying to sharpen them as replacement blades are only .30 cents, but I also have a Havalon Baricuda with a much more meatier blade that I do sharpen and they still hold an edge nicely..

Jim..

Those blades are way cheaper than the outdoor edge blades. It's 6 for $19 at WSS for them. That's more why I was asking.

That's quite the difference.

I saw those on amazon.ca. I thought of buying one for a Christmas gift for me but I thought I would read reviews first. Did you get the folder or the other?
