Being new to archery and such, I was wondering what you guys would reccomend for a target... I don't want to spend more than $75 or so. Does anyone out there have a target they would possibly sell? Just a gently used one, that still has some shots left in it. Im just looking for a block type target.
I think you can pick up slightly used targets after indoor 3D shoots (Like the mother of all shoots).
I use the plastic bags stuffed into burlap targets. $30 and get 3/4 seasons out of them with field points, as long as you keep them out of bad weather. Not so good for broadheads though.
For just shooting practise pts, use a feed sack filled with old rags and/or plastic bags. keep it out of the weather when your done shooting. About every 50 shots or so just turn the bag around. You can pull arrows out with two fingers with this type of target.
ive made lots of homeade targets, from boxes, bags, to cardboard bales. the best i have found i got lucky and found in my garage, was a 4x4 sheet of 13" thick styrofoam. works wonders, i think they sell it in some hardware places no idea on the cost but im sure ive put at least 700 shots in it and i think it will take over 700+ shots before i need to find another one. i keep moving the target so i dont stay in one spot.
