Default Cancer and the cure for one old mining geologist

I once met an old gentle man mining geologist when I was waiting for the Canada Line in Vancouver on my way either in or out of Canada from South America.

He must have been around 75 and fought off his bought of lung cancer. He told me firmly that his success was due to his discovering Mangosteen fruit.

Not sure how many of you have tasted it but Queen Victoria was ready to pay a huge fortune to anyone back in those days who could deliver it fresh. Impossible.

These days yes but Canada Customs will stop you.

I headed back down to Bogota at the time and within two weeks was wondering what in the world this exotic fruit was all about.

Took my guards in the bullet proof B6 and drive four hours out of Bogota to lower elevation and to a small village there famous in Colombia for growing Mangosteen.

It was expensive but the most exquisite fruit I have tasted other than Maracuya and of course Chirimoya in Peru.

For whatever it's worth just wanted to pass that message along as I remember that old happy geologist.

I am not sure why he opened up to me but after that short chat on the ramp of the Canada line I never met him again.

Maybe this message will be a Christmas present for some.

Mangosteen is also common in Asia in places like Indonesia and Malaysia.

Merry Christmas.

This?
mangosteen

I love trying new fruit. I have a dragon fruit addiction right now. Used to be hard to find and $5 each. Now $2.47 at superstore.

So this mangosteen is not available here? I would love to try it. Sounds great.

To me it tastes like bubble gum and vanilla ice cream. Here is another description of the taste!

http://foodblogga.blogspot.ca/2009/0...atest.html?m=1

As for locating it the next time your in Lima on the way to the Amazon jungle or to see Macchu Pichu just go to the greatest food store I have ever seen. WONGS on Ovallo Guiterrez or over in San Isidro.

It's a Peruvian fruit and there must be some in Canada but have never been able to find it.

It is common for desert down in Peru.

Sounds delicious, but I wouldn't count on it to cure cancer.

Or he could have been one of those people who never had any disease but claim they have had some 'incurable disease' and cured it by eating one thing or another. Knew an old fart, claimed he had cured his terminal bone cancer by eating banana skins. Few years later he claimed he had cured his terminal brain tumour by eating sardines. Some people are nuts.

You are bang on. Looks like garlic cloves under the purple skin. TNT in either Edmonton south side of Calgary should have them. That would be the first place to look.

For the guys that are laughing like hyenas thinking this fruit does not exist all I can say is you have to taste it to believe it. See photo.

You peel the purple away and eat what looks like garlic cloves.

Default mangosteen

My father was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2006.He was given 1yr to live.Someone told him of a miracle juice with mangosteen so he tried it along with chemo and radiation. He drank a bottle a day (28oz) for thirty days then tapered off.6 months later, much to the doctors disbelief he was pronounced cancer free.He is still with us today and at 75 still hunts and fishes.I believe this juice saved him,and I tell everyone about this story so that it may save someone else. The juice is called XANGO,and can only be purchased through a xango dealer,i believe you can research it on the web.Merry Christmas all a/o members.

YES! The chemo and radiation likely had no effect, but the miracle fruit was the cure. Makes sense. Was there a trip to the faith healers in Mexico too?
