Default 305

Hey guys! Just wondering how everyone is making out in 305? I have been all over the east side of the Waldron looking for a cow elk and I haven’t even seen a single one.. don’t worry I am not looking for anyone’s spot...

Thanks
Al

Spent my Saturday out there as well, and there were no elk to be found. The only day I've been there in years, and I only saw 1 whitetail doe and 2 small mule deer bucks. I noticed 2 fresh gut piles not far from my truck at the end of the day, so a couple people had some success with deer. But I hiked many miles and saw no elk sign.

I’ve not hunted it in about 8 years now but it definitely gets a lot of pressure
Was on the decline back then.
The further you get off the beaten path the better, the snow that’s coming should help
Good luck.

I was out Saturday and I saw three different groups of elk. All spotted from the road as I am still on crutches. All in the public land. Went out Wednesday last week and I spotted a herd from the road . My hunting partners shot a bull from that bunch. So I hate to be that guy but hunting from the truck is quite effective...... who woulda thought? If you need help finding antlerless elk PM me after the regular season is over and I will find some for you.

No elk left in 305. They're all in freezers

However, I've seen lots of 'em in 302...

I have a different opinion
Small herd of about 68
Big herd of about 800.

I can almost bet there were no big bulls among them, only small guys and spikes.
We were after mules on the opening weekend and saw 3 6x6 and one thick 5x5 in another guys camps .All big ones were taken pretty fast I guess .
