Default not a classic

Didn't the US military just adopt the beltless .300 Norma mag as a mid-range sniper round? I know not the same measurements but a close cousin.

I’ve shot hundreds of rounds out of my two different 308 Norma mags. For brass I just use 7 rem mag brass and run it through my rcbs sizing dies. It’s not a problem at all. I get about 3100 FPS with 180 grainers. MOA.
One of the rifles was rechambered from a 30-06. One is factory chambered. No difference.
The rechambered rifle needed the bolt face opened up. Feed rails altered. Extractor altered. All that stuff. Works like a charm now.
