Default Fish finder question

What are you all using for the front of your boat, what options are worth getting, ie side view, canadian maps, brand, size, etc

I run 3 Lowrance HDS Live units in my boat. 2 on my dash and 1 on the bow. All the units are networked together via Ethernet therefore every unit can see every transducer on the boat. 12” and 9” on dash and 12” in bow

At the stern I have a standard 2D skimmer transducer, Active Imaging transducer and now the new Livesight. At the bow I use the standard 2D transducer built into the trolling motor. Again, I can see any transducer or map from any unit at any time.

I don’t fish a lot from my bow unless it’s vertical jigging. Then it’s normally for lakers so I use the LiveSight or trolling motor transducer.

I make my own maps with Genesis Live and use base maps from Genesis Social maps (www.genesismaps.com)

I use a Humminbird Helix 10 G3N DI that is linked to my Ulterra and my helm unit, a Helix 9 G3N SI. Networking them all allows me to control my Ulterra from either unit, as well as seeing my SI off my helm from the bow.

I build maps using Autochart Live and the maps I build can be used by my Ulterra to follow the contour lines built in Autochart.

I have a Helix 7 SI GPS G2N about a year old. This spring I got a new boat with an Ulterra that has Mega DI. My Helix doesn’t support the Mega DI and I’m wondering if it is worth getting an upgrade unit for the Mega DI. Is the Mega DI much better than the original DI? I can’t seem to find any comparison information.

Too complicated. Guy would need a science degree to operate that thing.

I noticed the old green and red picked up the walleye suspended just off the bottom. I smash them with that. What is the Mega DI looks similar to side imaging contrast.
