Flames best second period this year I think...good hustle and heart today. And Smitty hasn't crapped the bed which always helps, though Crosby's goal just about undid his mind....

What is this silly scrum about after horn??

Nice cross check on Gio's kidneys.....
I hope they embarrass the hell out of this team. Beat em on the scoreboard, hammer them in the corner and lay a licking on them in the alley.

Our Flames look much different. I like.

That scrum was crap, going after our top guy, *****s. Then Geo take nasty cross check to the kidneys. That better result in a penalty come the third. Pitts has been getting away with a lot today. If we end up shorthanded I will be choked.

I think it was from a nasty hit in the first by Peterson.he left the ice and went to the room for a bit. Benny, immediately administered a tune up to the offender.

Agree, watching replay that was just crap getting in Johnny's face like that, and the shot on Gio was just dirty. But they better get used to it, playoffs aren't going to be a Gentleman's game either!

I really like how engaged Bennett is. I really like him, always have.

Do you think Canucks could do us a solid and beat Sharks tonight?

Those pp to start a period never seem to generate anything....they were saying Ryan has three assists today? Good job!

By now you should know that it's better to not hope or have expectations with smitty.....just hang on to your seat and cringe every time the puck comes at him.

Definitely and I hate that. We need to clear the front of the net, total screen, can't blame Smith on that one. D man needs to be on that guy.
Why didn't Malkin not get an interference call right before that?? Garbage.

I don't know if I'd go that far. Maybe "well" compared to how he usually plays, he did put up a .895 SA% after all, but not "well" compared to a typical NHL goaltender performance. He did let Crosby score from practically behind the net and Malkin's shot along the ice right at him probably shouldn't have gone in either.

Some good saves but still inconsistent. I do like how he bored own in the final minute.
Perhaps a small building block to move forward with?
Or it makes him look better from a trade POV?

To me it seems like Smith is a goalie who could get hot in the playoffs... a really emotionally intense guy who could step it up a notch. He has the raw talent I think.

Just a hunch (redeemable for $.02)

I could forgive him for a lot if that happened..... I'm not really feeling it though.
