Default trapping licence?

what is requied to get a trapping licence ,i grew up around it with my grandfather and had been licenced up till my late teens,when i went to school.but that was back east a decade ago.is there anything i can trap on private land without a licence?beavers,coyotes?my son is getting old enough to get out and go would like to get back in it again,i still get the itch every winter.thanks.

I'm not 100% sure but I don't really think you can trap anything like that legaly however all you would need to do is write an exam at Fish and Wildlife. This could be changing so I wouldn't waste to much time. From some people I have talked to it would seem since you didn't have a licence here you would need to take the test. Also the Alberta trappers assosiation website has info on trapping courses and a manual available with a lot of info on trapping if you need to brush up a bit first.

Go to the Alberta Guide to Trapping Regulations.

As well, check out the Alberta Trappers' Association for courses and other useful information.
