Default Lost Hardy Rod

I fell while wading in the oldman today. About 2 miles inside the forestry on the Maycroft road.
I lost my Hardy Shadow 5wt and m Brodan net.
A reward is available if found.

Scary ride for about 300 yards.
Richard

Glad I’m reading about your story hear and not hearing about a drowning on the news!
Hopefully you can get your gear back. If not at least your alive to replace it!

Hey SK: I thought that you liked your Hardy Zenith, oh wait, it's a 5 wt and too heavy for those 8 to 12 inch dinkies you like to catch.

Anyway, sorry to hear about the rod loss and hope it's found. Eons ago I had a Hardy Jet (glass) pulled out of my canoe in Paul Lake by a moderate sized trout. Never saw it again.

You're correct. I DO like my Zenith 5 wt., but I like to use the right tool for the job. That's why for the smaller fish I use my Winston 3wt, or sometimes my Sage 4wt.
No sledgehammers for me.

Default Found at least parts

A wonderful gentleman named John found my rod.
Well 3/4 of it.
The tip is missing and so is the reel.
I will contact Hardy and see what they say.

Thanks for the kind thoughts.
Richard

That's great that your rod was found and returned. Sucks that you'll have to get a new tip and brutal that the reel was missing. Me thinks that someone (not the fellow that returned it to you) found the rod/reel with the tip broken and pocketed the reel and discarded the rod. Sucks.
Hardy will no doubt repair/replace your tip, but it won't be cheap. My understanding (I could be wrong) is that you'll have to ship your rod to Hardy (England) with about $100 for the tip replacement. Also, it may take a few months. Usually not that big of a deal because most people have several rods that can be used until the return of the broken rod.
Good luck.
