How's the water level? At times in the past it was a good perch lake. Then the droughts hit and alot of it dried up and the thing stagnated and winter killed.

If the water level returns, it may be a good candidate for re stocking. So would be Hastings, Missawawi, Cache, Frenchman, etc.

It has not had fish in it for quite some time. Years ago it was good pike and perch lake.
Maybe there is the odd little pike but I doubt it.

Spent most of my summers there in the 70's as a kid. You could always catch perch and pike off the cabin dock with my uncle's pocket fisherman rod lol. But, as others have said, it isn't that way anymore. They've tried restocking it a few times but its never bounced back.

It's been dead awhile, I remember ice fishing it in the mid-90's with my grandfather a number of times and never saw or caught anything
After a frustrating morning at Thunder, we'd make our way to Nakamun after lunch and fill our pails with perch

Thunder was shallow to begin with. We had a decade long drought in the 90'2 - early 2000's. Alot of lakes lost over 8 foot of water, then the shallow lakes suffered massive winter kills.

Long list of Perch lakes in northern Alberta suffered the same fate. The saddest story is Missawawi near Lac La Biche. That lake was a true factory for big fish in its day.

Anyways, water is now returning and I am hopeful that SRD will re stock these lakes as that will spread the fishing pressure out with restored lakes to fish.
