Default Fishing in West Palm Beach

Well, I had today and tomorrow booked for fishing, wanted to hook onto a sailfish, kingfish, Mahi Mahi, or whatever...but the wind has been blowing 25+ knots overnight, and after we cleared inlet and got out a couple miles it was pretty obvious that it was going to suck and the captain didn't want us out there...6-8' swells, with a 4 second frequency was giving us a fun ride. So we had to re book for an 8 hour trip for Tuesday, our last day here. Weather is supposed to be good then, so hopefully we can get some fishing done. Kind of bummed, I've been looking forward to this for months....fingers crossed.

Any back country fishing for trout, reds, snook and baby tarpon around? That would be a blast if windy offshore.

Thanks for posting that Ken! Yep, we got out again, and did a bit of fishing. I hooked a decent sized Bonito (I think it was anyway) and got it right to the boat and wham! A bull shark took off everything behind the head! I reeled in head, and have a video of the heart still beating. That's fresh fish! My son was next on deck, his first fishing trip. He hooked up a sail fish, but it shook the hook. Then I got the guy in the picture.

Using 20lb test and light gear, that was a heck of a battle. My left arm started cramping bad, and I doubted i'd be able to bring it to the boat...but I did. Hurt so good. Anyway, the kids didn't do too well in the washing machine swells today, and both fed the fish..so I called it a bit early so they could be feeling ok for flight home tomorrow. Was a great trip, will write more about all the Sharks later. TC
