Default Cartridge type for big game hunting

So, I was looking through last years regulations, and I was wondering if it's legal to hunt deer in the bush with a 357 mag. The only thing I could find in the regs is that the bullet has to be 23 caliber or larger.

Can anyone clarify?
Thx.

Yes. The 23 caliber minimum is the only stipulation for big game in Alberta. You are good to go with your 357

Been there done that, whitetail doe went flop on the spot.

Backwoods Runners model 94 trapper was the rifle used…….

The cartridge length requirement went bye bye around 2003 or 2004 when the series of WSSM cartridges came out.

It was the 2003 Alberta Guide to Hunting Regulations that first stated "The minimum cartridge case length for big game has been removed. The minimum .23 calibre requirement remains in effect."
Up until that year it was unlawful to hunt big game in Alberta with a cartridge of less than 1.75" or 44mm.
