Appliance service technician ??
Any recommendations for an honest good appliance repair/service repair company in Edmonton? My washer and dryer need some repair/maintenance.

If you are any bit handy, these things are a piece of cake to repair, I have had my dryer apart 3 times and my washer once, most of the parts are available on Amazon and are typically much less than a repair. I was quoted $280 to fix mine last time, it was a $18 thermostat.

Yup...Youtube is your best friend.....
Fixed almost every appliance and vehicle on my own....Buy your parts locally or amazon....

It take less time to take apart one of these then it does to load it into a truck and drive it to a repair man, only to go back and do all that in reverse.
I value my time higher than the double overtime my corporation pays for OT

If I can repair a washer and dryer anyone can
First you need to diagnose.
My washer door was broke and repaired it.
Dryer had the moisture sensor go and repaired it. Also replaced all rollers and belts. Also repaired the door.
Price difference example. Repairing the sensor quoted repair company was $350 parts and labour and travel time. My cost do it yourself $3.17 for the part from Camco
While the videos are usually fine often they are slightly different so use common sense and don’t freak. Also if is says 1.5 hours then I give myself 2.5 hours.
100% use a video that has a safety section. There are lots of sharp edges in them machines.
Get the wife to help and make it a repair date.
We just replaced our the jet dry dispenser in our dish washer.

Hey Sundance....My jet dry dispenser is using a lot of more rinse agent...
Did you come across this issue before replacing it?

Sitting Bull, heed all of the above. I currently have my dryer apart waiting on parts. I have repaired my dishwasher, washing machine and now dryer ordering parts from Partselect.ca and following videos on YT. Way easier than it first appears.Lots of different sites sell appliance parts. It saves a guy a lot of $. Parts usually arrive within the week. Tons of really informative videos on YT.

Unfortunately many people are not tool and appliance repair savy...LOL
I think many older folk like myself have tried to repair all of our appliances and vehicles before paying $100 per hour or more labor charges... 
I will tear anything apart and die trying..LOL

Washers and dryers are pretty simple machines (if I can fix hundreds a year, they must be) . What needs maintaining? I can probably give you a pretty good idea of its worth calling a tech or not. I hate giving good money to "skilled" people for a job I can easily do.

I used the certified lg repair dude who for my lg washer that had an issue not long ago. Had some companies quoting $400 to $600 for the repair. The lg certified repair dude took 3 or 4 days to get back to me but only charged $150 for the repair.
Took him all but 10 min in my house.
I'll definitely look into the next issue a little closer next time and fix myself.

Exactly. Running out of jet dry was due to a leaking dispenser. Wife picked up on it as she started to fill it much more frequently. Problem is solved after replacing.
