Default Recomendations for a new guy

Hello everyone, im very new to fly fishing, maybe 15-20hrs or so. Maybe it still to early to hope for a catch.

so far i've been casting some rather big flys, bow river buggers is what they are called, the hook is about 3/4 of an inch long, with the fur 1 1/4 inches
size someone recommended them for trout. i know there are brooks and Bulls in the stream where i go about 12 inches or so.

I know i could probably present the fly much better, but for some reason i think my fly's are much to big.

Anyone have any thoughts

Not sure if your post is serious or not so ill keep it simple.....visit a fly shop. They will be happy to tell you everything you need to know from tippet to leaders to flies as well as whats hatching.

No, your flies aren't too big. I've had 12" char take 8" flies on numerous occasions.
That said if you want to fish for small fish, use stuff they are more likely to eat. I would try dry flies, ie;elk hair caddis in 8-14 and irrestibles in 12-16 and some nymph rigs ie; stones 2-8, hairs ear 8-14, prince nymps 8-14.

Mind you fishing the streamers will give you a better shot if you come into any big boys.

Perhaps the fish are too small
