Default Building a Drift Boat - What to do when winter gets too long

Winter is usually a time for ice fishing, snowmibling and back country hiking and skiing for me. Unfortunately, I get bored quickly at home. So last winter with an idea brought to me by a friend and fellow fisherman, I decided to build a wooden drift boat after work on weekdays.
For the record, my wood working experience consisted mainly of building the odd deck, shed etc. So I began by searching for designs, talking to people and reading about the various types of drift boats, specifically wooden drift boats and dories. Although the design and final dimensions were a source of my own calculations and preferences, the drift boat is based on a Mackenzie river boat and some help from the people at Montana river boats.
It is mid winter, and again I am at the peak of boredom, so I thought I would share my process ( I can only tie so many flies).
The first step was to build the frame, which gives the boat not only strength, but the true shape of the boat. This is critical as this will determine how the boat handles and how deep the boat runs in the water.
