Default Shotgun for hunting

Stupid question again(might have been ask before). I just want to try hunting goose or duck. Aside from fitting as mentioned which brand is recommended, auto/pump, SXS, barrel length, gauge, 2k for budget. Basically I know squat about shotguns or hunting with them. I use to have 410 (dont want cleaning pellets on a grouse so I sold it 22 headshot is better) and defender (I also sold it,nothing to defend I guess I am open season )

Just need the stick might have to be pimping for an outfitter for a hunt as I cannot afford the other gears.

Hook up with a member here and try some stuff out.

12 ga, screw in chokes, double, pump, semi…. It doesn’t matter as much as the fitting of the shotgun to you.

If you don't have any shotguns, I guess you have to buy a Remington 870.

Look at Winchester SX-4, Browning Silver, Beretta A300, or A350, whichever fits best. The fit varies so much between them ,one should fit.

Really, he should get an 870, a 500, and a model 12.
Just to cover all the bases.

(And still be under his 2k budget...)

More than anything else, buy a shotgun that FITS you. Years ago, my daughters offered to buy me any shotgun I wanted. The only one that fit me "off-the-rack" was a Browning BPS. You will be different.
