Default Saturday, June 22 river report, Ram area

Cross posted:

Water report:

Some teachers and I needed a break from report card season and end-of-the-year craziness. So we took drive, played some music, and I looked for clear flowing water.

Red Deer R near hwy 2; off colour, not too fishable except for maybe pounding the banks with streamers and nymphs.
Clearwater; not so clear near Rocky Mtn House or near Cutoff creek. Same advice; avoid or wet fly to you heart's content.
North Sask; too high and grayish/brown
North Ram; too dirty to fish
Cripple; double double
Lnyx; getting close to fishable
South Ram, near Ram falls, off colour, not ready. By Hummingbird Staging area, gin clear. Cold.
Elk Creek; off colour, wet flies or avoid.

It was a perfect day to just drive around.

Notwithstanding more rain in the forecast, rivers should be much better next weekend. If we get pounded again with more rain, it will definitely be early July before we can get going for alot of this area.
