Default CDTSA Executive Membership Drama

I don’t want to post all the info I’ve seen so far as it won’t do the club much good but I know there are other members here so I’m curious if others are getting as concerned as I am. The executive sent an email a month ago promising transparency and then went silent.

Anyone else planning to attend tomorrow night’s hearing?

I’m reluctant to get into details as I don’t think I have enough information.

There is some disagreement between executive members that has resulted in a bunch of drama, I want to find out more but there’s nobody from the executive talking. There’s a hearing tomorrow to decide if they’re kicking somebody out.

Well scratch that, I guess they’ve decided to make it a closed door meeting, a newsletter update just went out.

The hearing is being video taped and you can request the tape from them . I have zero clue what's happening other than the email I got . I'm sure everyone got the same email .

Basically it sounds like a member of the Executive did something that was quite detrimental to the club, and has been emailing the membership saying his side of the story is right. The club is now holding a hearing on whether to expel said executive or not.

AFAIK the only thing he’s accused of is sending an email to a group of memebrrs with allegations about actions of other executives. He hasn’t been accused of any wrong doing himself.

Why do members of gun clubs ...grown men act so much like women?
Seems to be the case often.

Recieved the survey for the invite to the meeting and said yes but there was no address anyone know where it's at?

Question which is it?

Is this a case of one member running amok? Or is it similar to the lone voice of reason (Farkas) against the corrupt (Calgary City Council) establishment?
To an outsider with no skin in the game, either is plausible.

I've spoken with a few members and no one seems to know. Very hush, hush.

Looked back on the survey, but once you close it, you can't reopen it.
Not seeing the info in any of the emails. It's almost like they don't want anyone to show up.

I guess I'll just phone the 'usual place' and ask for the time.

I’m not sure where the survey sent today came from. The associated email cdtsa@shaw.ca not info@cdtsa.ca like the rest of the newsletter communications recently. I’m not convinced that it won’t be a closed door thing still.

There's a room booked at the 'usual place' from 6:30 - 9:30

Might have to go have a peek.

It’s bizarre. Who knows which side is in the right. Hopefully this will be worked out quickly, and CDTSA can carry on successfully.

Has anyone heard what results came from last week's closed door executive meeting. I am a member and have heard nothing.

so some executive member is being punished for doing something wrong...so whats the BIG DEAL..we will find out soon enough....

in the interest of the club and its members
it would have been best protocol not to put this out on public media..

Hiding or limiting access to disputes within the organization or club, is NOT how matters like this should be handled.

There needs to be complete transparency, so any unfair or biased outcomes can be vetted by the members and potential members know what they're getting into.

A private club is not required to disclose anything to a public forum of uninvolved online readers. Let the people with the knowledge be the ones to make decisions.

Nope. If both sides aren't being discussed this is not the place for it.
