Fly fishing--with spin ron
Want to fly fish but dont have a fly rod---No problem--Weighed water bobber on the end of your cast--Two dropper loops about 18in apart--5-6 ft from thebobber.Snelled flys, about 4 to 4/12 in of cast.Put loop over loop and the fly out thru. The fly, small size 18 works well.silver body,Small black hackel.Method---Cast 45 degrees into the wind, reel just enough to take up the slack, not enough to move the bobber.Of course you can try any fly.Now your flys are well out there, beyond normal casting distance. If you want to use a float indicator, take off your two fly rig, place the bottom fly ahead of the bobber at desired depth, and a small strike indicator, bright orange just next to the float.

Always there to help, like to see people catch trout,Seen many times the non skilled with fly rod guy go home with there limid of big trout--matter of fact this is mostly the way the tidal ponds are fished in nfld,The regular fly rods just dont have the range--A world record rainbow trout was caught at witless bay pond this way--I think the record now has gone to Argentina.

Some corrections here: You're catching, you're a hero.
Just in case you thought the grammar police were sleeping...

to the naysayers... fishing with a spincast outfit, float and fly still requires technique and skill. And hooking the fish with "flies".
Fly fishermen/women and spincast anglers don't want to bicker like the bowhunters vs. rifle hunters.

Cool idea!
I used my flies with my spincast combo in a similar fashion before I finally got a fly rod.

Throw you all for a loop. When I was a kid we would fish the crowsnest with a fly rod and a panther Martin on it with maggots. So what would will call that lol the panther Martin usually had a treble with fly material on it. So it’s a 50/50 split then right?

The purists would call it an abomination but hey, you were just a kid.

I call it spin fishing with a fly, but I also call it a lot of fun, taught my friends daughter this method. An excellent technique in the spring on the small lakes around Cranbrook. Casting from shore with a tear drop float, 3 feet of leader and a Doc Spratley.

Speaking of abominations I have caught lots of trout trolling a small flatfish on the flyrod, it sometimes works when all else fails,

At the end of the day, many so called flies are really lures. Cloisters are jigs for example.
However you present the fly/lure is up to you unless the regulations require the use of fly fishing equipment only. The Cowichan River on Vancouver Island is gear restricted to fly gear only.
This regulation is:
fly fishing ... angling with a line to which only
an artificial fly is attached (floats, sinkers, or attracting devices may not be attached to the line when fishing is restricted to "fly fishing only”).
So no bobbers, droppers, lead/tungsten shot.

I know, I know. Fished there once for trout. Was truly tough. All the low life Alberta tactics were illegal.
I was throughly challenged figuring out how to fly fish.
I was not successful.

Fishing with a fly......fly fishing......or is it fishing with a fly?
Either way use to toss out a bobber with about six feet of line to a fly and slow retrieve.....bobber fishing with a fly.....trout for supper!

I like this method as well. My set up is slightly different than yours. I use balsa slip bobbers with slight modification. I drill them on one side and glue weight so
they float on they one side. Paint bottom side black and portion that is above water line with high vis paint. I'm using small swivel between main and leader line and just above the swivel I put couple of rubber stops so I can control total leader length. Bobber is free to move towards rod. You have to keep tension on the line anyway but when fish strikes she does not feel tension of the weight of the bobber. With this method I can cast long distance and don't need much room around me.

This is not fly fishing, its the same as casting with lures/spinners except your using a bobber and a fly.

I agree. With one cast you can get your lure where you want it to be and final effect is the same as with fly rod - you catch fish.

The iPad does it again. I had to reread your comment to get what your point may have been..
In the event you have no idea what a Clouser really is, try this.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clouser_Deep_Minnow
However a Clauset, clouser or whatever the iPad calls it is still a jig or is that jug.
