Great freaking recipe. Had an epic breakfast this weekend too. Donair meat on toast with sweet sauce, sunny side egg and mozza cheese. Very tasty.

Moose too
My first batch was deer , my second batch was moose. Not a big difference...both were equally awesome

Well, we just finished the last pack of venison donair meat that was in the freezer. Hunting season can't come soon enough!
Does anyone know how well the sweet sauce freezes? We only had two donairs so there was a lot of sauce left over.

Thanx again for all the replies
Alright this is what I tried last night. First I smoked it for 2 hours, flipping every 1/2 hour . I used mesquite chips at 225˚F.
Then I cooked for another 1/2 hour at 225˚F then turned up the heat to 400˚ and got a nice crisp on the outside. Kind of like grilling a giant burger.
And thus the smoked donair sub was born
It was good, real good!! Just to bad I ran out of deer months ago. This one was straight beef.

I finally got around to trying this recipe out last week with some ground venison I had kicking around.
Donair meat recipe - 5 stars just perfect
Sweet sauce - 2.5 stars
I don't know why, but I really did not enjoy the sauce.
I'm going to try a yogurt based garlic sauce next time and I'm sure it'll be epic.
Thanks for the spectacular donair meat loaf recipe.

Fantastic!
I used 1.5lbs Alberta free range elk mixed with 1lbs ground pork. Made a tzatziki sauce instead of the sweet stuff.
I've been drooling over this recipe since the thread started. Thank you AlbTuff!
The family loved it and we will be making this again.

A rerun for those that haven't tried it or a reminder of how good it is for those that have.
