well, we agree on the Mayor.

I admire Kanon for his unabashed allegiance to a losing city.
It's got to be tough being him.

Honestly, I never could cheer for the Oil. Even when they made that run a few years back. I did grow some respect for them, but never cheered.

In fact I posted a pic of the Oil goalie getting his knee ripped apart in the final series.. I have never received so many hate emails and being called out in public.
I think someone called me a "Ball slicer" or something.

Kanon will come around (slightly) if we make it deep, but until then he will constantly root for the bad guys.

Captain Calgary, still driving the Bandwagon right over the cliff!

Oh well you can grumble along with the rest of us, I get to laugh at Alberta's ancient laws again when women go topless on the red mile.
It's been legal in Ontario since the 90's.
I remember the outrage the last time

So did they arrest you...last time

And I agree I don't see anything wrong with women going topless on the red mile or anywhere else

Congrats to the Flames and their fans. Should be a fun series to watch, and I predict Vancouver in 5. Pity that a Canadian team will be knocked out in the first round.

Posts 339/340....gotta love it when 2 moderaters go at it. lol

So what is the matchup (in the West) then...

*edit* (got my ROW's mixed up)

St Louis - Minnesota
Anaheim - Winnipeg
Calgary - Vancouver
Nashville - Chicago

Saturday's games are all pointless for the Western teams. I suspect some boring games that day. Lots of scratches and safe playing.

haha...my sister is die-hard 'Nucks fan, and her husband is a Flamers lifer fanatic!! Oughta be a nice atmosphere in that household for awhile..hahah

If I were Calgary, this game on Saturday could mean home ice advantage....Of course, anything is possible with Edmonton..They beat LA and could do the same thing with Vancouver

Flames in 6

How would that be? They'd be tied in points with Vancouver, but Canucks would have the tiebreaker with # of wins. 47-46
*edit*....Ohhh you're right! ROW's would be in Calgary's favour! Ohhh...big game then!! Yeah I wouldn't put it past Edmonton at all! Could easily see them beat Vancouver. Cool..makes Saturday Canucks and Flames games interesting.

Default News flash. Oilers and Leafs in playoffs!

Associated Press
April 10, 2015 16:35.00

The National Hockey today announced in a ground breaking and total surprise move to let the Edmonton Oilers and Toronto Maple Leafs back into the playoffs via a newly defined loop hole in the often confusing playoff standings breakdown and playoff pairings.

Gerry D. Rinkolot, MBA calculated the effective value to NHL revenues and deemed two new wildcard spots will be allowed in lieu of waiving first round draft picks.

"We are please as punch to see two teams step up and test trial this first year's UWS (underdog wildcard spots). This positioning allows for full rights under current games regulations. It shows as a organization a strong commitment to the sport keen strategic planning."

Gary further elaborates that "the team to have the lowest score after 18 holes will go into the next round".

Exciting news for all Oiler and Leafs fans for sure.

Stay tuned for new developments.
