Default Good deals on stihl chainsaws?

Does anyone have a lead on good deals for a stihl chainsaw. I'm looking for a ms261 as a gift for my mum. I am house sitting her farm and her old saw is dying rapidly so I want to treat her to a new one for her return. Maybe even the the vw heated grips one for winter use.
Thanks guys.

Look like they had the 261 on sale last spring for $70 off...but not this spring.

Any stihl sales are usually throughout all the dealers, so one dealer is unlikely to give you a better deal than any other. Give a dealer a call and see.

Good luck.

I don't know about finding one on sale, I picked up an ms261 up last spring on a deal but haven't seen the sale on that model this year. I love the saw, good power for it's size and not too heavy to wield around. All the reviews I saw on it were favorable.

One thing the dealer may not know or tell you is that you should run 89 or higher octane fuel through it, ethanol free if possible. It mentions this in the owners manual and have read stories about guys that have ignored this warning and had problems.

The 91 octane fuel at fas gas is ethanol free I discovered (after some digging) so I make a point to use it. Apparently the ethanol can cause problems if left to sit in the tank for too long (especially in cold wet weather, as it attracts moisture.) Over time it can cause damage to certain parts in the gas tank and lines.

Default Air miles

I just got an ms180 off of air miles for some points. Totally free. Seemed like a good deal.
