Default Mock scrapes

Heading up North for a great week of hunting Whitetails. I have taken a few nice bucks over the years but I have never tried making a mock scrape. Wanted to get some feedback on experinces with mock scrapes and whether they work.

as I understand them, no expert, the key is the licking branch above where they leave the scent from the glands in the face etc. If you set up your own, it needs to have an overhanging branch, not a pine bow, for them to leave the scent. You can focus them to yours if there are others ones nearby by clipping off the branch so they will want to use yours. Put some doe in heat, buck pee, or your own. Would use a stick not a boot and keep your scent away from it.
