Good job. Being on their backs in the water probably wasn't going to end well.

I went to school and worked a few years in the "mid west" in the US, it's a very white and Christian demographic as you can imagine.

Definitely seems strange to us hearing "Praise the Lord" for common, everyday things like this, but that's the way it is down there.

"Praise the Lord" is used for everything from "finding biscuit mix on sale" to the "curing of cancer" and everything between in common conversation.

Lol! Don't want to be giving those praises out too easily, it seems...

One of my uncles and a cousin cut a couple bucks apart a few years back. I think it made it into AO.

I've been known to use it on occasion, and I identify as an Atheist, though I might have added, but pass the ammunition.

Moronic zealots might be another way to describe them. I believe myself BUT I find it amusing when the self described "righteous" need to shout Praise the Lord for every little thing they witness.

Maybe they should reflect on what or who got them stuck together in the first place. Maybe God had those two deer pegged as weak genetics and planned on taking them out of the food chain...HIS way.

ROFL

Only on AO could such a cool video spark such disgust! And over someone else's religion no less.

News flash, it wasn't said for your ears to hear so why get offended?

It's really no different then saying mother nature did this or evaluation created that. Sure it's what you believe, but there are others who believe otherwise.

Should they be offended when you make such remarks?

When I joined this site I was told I had to get a thicker skin, by people who, it turns out, have a very thin skin.

No wonder we don't get along. It's almost as bad as some special interest groups sometimes. Always taking offense.

Sheesh

Maybe not. I hear it a lot from the folks I hang out with. And like he says, in just about every situation.
I kinda like hearing it. It tells me they are comfortable being open with me.

I don't trust people who hide who they really are.

I was referencing how often I heard this exclaimed while living in the mid west comparing how many times, if ever, here for many common situations. I'm not saying, nor did I mean to insinuate, that two bucks locked up was an everyday thing. I'm just saying people said it all the time ..... kinda like a "wow" or something like that. It struck me as different down there, but got used to it given the demographics of where I lived.

That's all, so everyone can relax a little, don't read into an attitude or perspective that isn't there ..... the responses to my post sound defensive and paranoid to me .... yet nobody here needs to defend who you are, or what you stand for .... I'm cool with it. I'm simply passing my experience along.

Can we all hug and Kumbayah now?

Lived in Nebraska for a year, hunted coons with my gal's dad. Very honest god-fearing gent, but he did pack a little nip along on those midnight coon hunts. He figured the man upstairs understood.
