Perch at Coal Lake

Ive heard there are big perch in this lake but never can catch any !!

any suggestions ??

Coal lake has really declined in the past years. water levels low and weeds get so bad. big pike are rare now. doubt there is any perch in there with all the little pike. just my 2c

Too funny. All jokes aside....I'm not from up your way so don't know the lake. But I think coal is a trout fishery, no? So can't keep them anyway?

Oh hahahah no its a 2 peice hand auger and i must of not tightend the bolt enough i was too baked.... hahah..

seriously dude.....if you can make your way down past the point half way down the lake on the west side lot of spruce tree on the shore in 12-15 fow we used to do very well with perch there late ice. that was 15 plus years ago. don't live in that part of the country anymore.

It's a good idea to bring your kevlar body armour when on the AO forum cause things can get rough in a hurry and a what seems like a good thread can turn nasty quick!!!

A mod will probably lock this one up soon if jayboy continues his swearing.

No Stang, its a pike and perch, its a slew. Tried it this summer, it's super shallow and weedy. No trout though.

It's where you go when you just want to gaurantee some pike. It's would definately be quantity not quality at this lake. lots of 3-5 lb pike. Only heard about the perch. Never seen any caught.
