Llittle Bow Res. Lake Q&A

Looking for some new waters to test and was wondering if anyone has fished, had luck, or don't recommend Little Bow Res.
Would a guy be able to drive on the ice?

All accesses to this lake are closed ....lots of heavy equipment working there ..

Snow is very deep as well ....

And the lake height is fluctuating as they are raising the water level, so it probably is silty...

The one I am asking, is East of Travers. Looks like Travers would be its source, as the maps show anyway.

It is under construction yes. But I think it is still fishable, why wouldn't it be? They shouldn't be putting water in it now, but come spring if construction is complete, the plan was to have it the same depth as travers so they are really building up the south damn. Haven't been down there in years so not sure how current this info is.

I was under the assumption it was closed during the construction of it, but that could be way off base too. You know what they say about assuming things.....

It was great before the construction -lots of pike, whitefish, perch and people who know the lake well get into walleye regularly. Not sure whats going on there now as I haven't been there for last two years.

A few years ago....we had some awesome days perch fishing. That structure used to be 15-20 FOW in winter is now 40+ and will be 80+ later on. Too bad, it was nice when I lasted.

Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation and Alberta Environment propose to upgrade the dam structures and associated canals in the Little Bow reservoir and to replace the control structure in the canal connecting the Travers and Little Bow reservoirs. These works will increase the surface area of the Little Bow reservoir from 6.16 sq. km to 8.86 sq. km and allow the Little Bow and Travers reservoirs to be operated in tandem under a common fully supply level.

im truely very excited in the changes.......the sunken humps and structure will be amazing.
guys with the gps 411's on the above water structure....hang on tight to them...they will be priceless soon

I am interested to see what limit for walleye they will come up after they will connect those two. 1 over 55cm as in LBR or 3 over 50cm as in Travers.

We have pounded the walleyes in there for the last few summers and a 55cm keeper is rare indeed!! we had days of 40-50 while trolling then we'd go back to the campsite for supper then head out to jig for the evening and we'd slay another 30-40 (between 2 of us) and still I have noy caught a keeper.
