Make-A-Wish Ice Fishing Derby

February 20th 2011
‘No Alberta Fishing license required this weekend’
Wabamun lake
Event time: 10am - 3pm

This year Wabamun Lake will play host to another RUMWAL Adventure Ice Fishing Event. This will be the 9th annual fund raising event, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish® foundation.

Although last years Ice Fishing event was cancelled due to unseasonably warm weather, this year holds to be our best event yet.

Once again you are cordially invited to attend and bring along friends and family in support of the Make-A-Wish kids day of fishing.

Entrance fee will be the same as last year, $40 per hole.
*maximun of two holes per person*

# Registration may be paid by Email Money Transfer:
With Interac Email Money Transfer, you can send money directly from your personal bank account to anyone with an email address and a personal bank account at a Canadian financial institution.

*Early-Bird Deadline January 31st. 2011*

There will be a BBQ included in your admission fee, and coffee for some on-ice warmth.
No fishing license is required this weekend due to it being the Family Day Weekend.

*This is a catch and release event and is governed by all Alberta sport fishing regulations.*

*Prizes are awarded for length, first fish caught, most caught.*

All holes will be pre-drilled and you can pick your own hole in the marked off area. Fishing starts at 10am and continues till 3pm. You are responsible for your own conduct on the ice and waivers MUST be signed.

Alberta Competitive Fishing Event License Number CFE-0177

The event will be held just off to the left of the main boat launch/pier in the town of Wabamun.
Exit off hwy 16 at the Wabamun exit, head south on 5oth street to the boat launch.

Thank you all for the kind words but the truth is........we started doing this derby because our neigbours son past away from luekemia and his parents told us how wonderful the Make-A-Wish treated them prior to his passing, so my business partner and I championed around the cause. The past president fishes with us now (he is the regional director now) and we couldnt be happier to support such a worthwhile organization.

You Guys/Gals rock ! I have recieved so much positive response this year to the derby. I should mention that we go out to Wabamun the day before and stay out there for the evenings festivities hosted by the Wabamun Hotel, feel free to join us out there. One of the earlybird prizes is the nights stay at the hotel....they really have fun with us out there, Herb and Vikki have been supporters of this derby since its inception....kudos !

i opened the box so i could send the tackle box with hooks in the same box.

I am very impressed with all the Generosity of everyone!!
It's the kindness and little things that go along way...

A round of applause for all those chipping in and making this event even that much better, and a huge Round of a applause to Rumtan and all the fine people of the Rumwal Adventures Crew.
They put on a great event folks.

I was asked today Rumtan by a fellow whom attended two years ago if you guys will be doing the 50/50 draw again? I am also curious?

The draws are a fun way to add value to the derby......if we have enough help again, im sure the gals will do another great job of doing the draws.

All I keep thinking about is that wicked BBQ trailer.... what that thing has like 6 grills or something?? I just like seeing that bad boy set up, and the Burgers that you guys cook up are incredible...with the fixings... MMMMMmmmmm

So with the approval from Rumtan I am going to donate

1 Guided sturgeon fishing trip for 2 people ( days based on availibility )
- This includes your Equiptment , Bait , Beverages & snacks ( does not include there fishing license )

This is only applicable to people who get there tickets before January 31 st , This is an early Bird Prize .

Its going to be a great success, we met with the staff at the Make-A-Wish and they have offered us to share a booth at the sportsmans show with them. Now all we need is everyone to bring cameras with them to the derby and we can display some great shots from this years event.
