Should i replace my flyine?
Recently, my fly line got tangled in the prop of a boat motor. I lost about half the belly and the front taper.
Should I replace it or would I be okay with about 10-15' of belly before it tapers?
If it matters, it was an AirCel line by Scientific Anglers.

Was it WF or a double taper? If it's DT take it off and put it back on the opposite direction.

double taper seems pretty rare these days. If it's a WF replace it. You might be able to throw some line out without the taper, but why handicap yourself for the cost of a fly line?

Not a bad suggestion. Cut it down to just the running line, build or tie on a loop and use it with a shooting head of your choice.
In the mean time, go out and buy a new line. Maybe you can find a good used one. Either way, get a replacement.

Just chuck it and buy a new one! The only line I've ever been able to use again after a prop wrap was an indicator/nymph tip and then only lost about a foot of the tip.
Hint: the Fishin' Hole usually has a sale on this time of August, likely next week, so might find a good price.

Listen to professori and Mr Flyguy. You're just delaying the inevitable by screwing around with your damaged line.

Hint 2: just saw cabelas have the same lines on sale for $25. Might as well replace it.

X2 it's always nice to fish with new equipment! Fishing with tattered equipment can be frustrating!

Try it and if you're happy no need to spend extra money. Don't always need the best just as long as you're happy with what you have. If it sucks then get a new one but no harm in trying out what you already have
