Default Experience with Zodiac boat with 40hp jet engine?

Hi fellow Outdoorsman,

Just wondering if anyone has experience with running a 16' Zodiac with a 40hp jet engine on it? The engine would be operated with tiller handle. Any experiences you can share would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Dave.

Stern on zodiacs is too flexible to work well with a jet, esp after you raise the stern to accomodate them. Lots of cavitation.

Used a 35 hp jet on a 16 foot zodiac as a biologist. Lots of fun. Needed a transom extender. Need weight in front but worked great. Zipped all over Alberta on it.

What are your questions?
