The solution to the RCMP being under staffed is not an easy one with how corrupt people are these days. On the other hand I know there are several people out there with minor correctable defects that would make great police officers and are turned away because of this. They are too picky and need to lighten up a bit.

We have gone from the common sense policeman who had grade 11 or 12 education, to university grads who are now basically, social workers with badges and guns.

Nice play , North America huh, why not compare just realtime area of say south western states including California?? Or that wouldn't fit your narrative.

I did agree with your earlier statement that the RCMP are not law abiding gun owners friends. In fact I think some oversight is definitely needed on the bureaucratic arm of the RCMP.
Thefts are at rampage levels mostly because they don't get caught, if they do punishment is minor, they believe the risk is worth the reward.

The shop I'm working at had the compound broke into last Friday/Sat morning full survaillence system . Cut the lock drove in hooked on an enclosed trailer and drove out.. Gone in 60 seconds style. Stolen truck from Lac labiche. They then stole a razor from the compound next door , plus who knows what else.
At 4:30 am
They felt very confident police presence would be very slim. Yet at 5pm those that work there worry about having 2 beer after work when they are patrolling.

No issue. no money was ever exchanged. Insurance agency was in contact with rcmp and firearms centre. Quite pleasant to deal with all around.

If we had "castle law" we would have immunity to protect our homes and property.........thieves would either change their habits or die trying.Harold

We don't have homes or property in Canada.

The government can swoop in anytime and seize as they see fit.

and after the polices "stellar" performance of protecting gun owners (High River gun grab) people start to question a lot of things.
after they are told of the bureaucratic nightmare of acquiring a firearm they choose to acquire through other means. purchasing/acquiring by other means creates this market (supply=demand). Locking them up does not or is not a deterrent by these statistics.

thefts are up, I for one are not surprised

You are right, the right to own property was not included in the Constitution. Trudeau the Elder wanted it included but, the majority of his party didn't so, it was left out.
