Early Whitetail rut???
My son shot this group of video's yesterday of a pretty decent whitetail buck.
This buck was out at high noon cruising a hillside looking for who knows what.
Almost looks like he's hunting a receptive doe. The cheesy music covers up the GPS coordinates my son is recording on the video.

Great looking buck! Make note there is no such thing as an early, or a late rut. The 'rut' actually does take place at the same time, season to season.

Uh no!
He's just being a buck, and playing the part.
With a 200 day gestation period for deer that would put fawns on the ground in early April! Sure death for a fawn.

OK for you overly sensitive, obsessively corrective, play it by the book armchair critics the title was a lost leader. If you did read you would see I did say "Almost looks like he's hunting a receptive doe." Oh well see you after hunting season. To the rest of you have a great fall.

What a nice buck! Almost makes me want to cry though. I was out hunting the other night, and I missed one that would probably go close to that size. Biggest buck I had ever seen in my sights! Unfortunately, buck fever got the better of me. I released the arrow and have no idea where it went. Pretty sure I'll never see that buck again. I was just walking down the right cut at the right time. He was 35-40 yards away, and I blew it! Sad day for me, but also very exciting. I actually enjoyed the music on this video. Sounds like national geographic type stuff. Sorry bout hijacking the thread.

No rut to date ever this earlier for the whity,
My son flung an arrow, 20'yards at a nice whity, I think he blacked out but it hung around so when he came too he put a kill shot in it...if only we all could be that lucky eh?

He was using my old Canon PowerShot SX20. Only draw back was he forgot the tripod. It would be interesting to know what left that mark on his neck

Man, that is luck!! I was so excited that I had to remind myself to breath. Hunting on foot at the same level as the deer is so exhilarating! I haven't sat in a stand since 2011! The last deer I shot with the bow was 2011! Go figure. And that buck was actually shot on foot as well. Just haven't done a lot of bow hunting. Think I might try to stick a doe, just to bring the confidence back up! Congrats to your son!!

It's probably more the title you used than the "almost" statement. Not sure who came across more overly sensitive between you guys lol
Really nice looking buck. He looks great now but still has monster potential to get even bigger
