Default G'day from Australia

G'day all,

As the title suggests I'm from Australia. Mad keen outdoorsman, camping, fishing, photography but my real passion is hunting, particularly big game hunting.

Do a lot of selfguided hunting here and in NZ. Most of it these days is with my gundog, a gsp named Ellie that we use for deer, ducks and quail.

I'm mainly a red deer, fallow and these day sambar hunter here, all over my gsp.

I'm really hoping to get over to either the US or Canada in the next couple of years for some hunting and maybe a bit of travelling with the better half.

Would ideally love to diy or hunt swap but not sure that's a legal option, at least in Canada so might have to look at guides down the track. At any rate I just thought I'd join up, have a yarn and share a story or two while seeing what you fellas get up to on the other side of the world.

Cheers

Gsp

Edit: sorted out Tapatalk.

Thanks for the welcome all.

No, buff don't have public land or draws here. For the average aussie the only way to get one is to pay big money like everyone else. Love to hunt one but not for $10k!

Welcome GSP!

Thanks for sharing your photos. It's always cool to see game from across the globe.

Very cute pup. Who is her partner in crime by the way? Young apprentice?

Welcome aboard GSP, great pictures and look forward to hearing some of your stories. A trip to AU is on my bucket list, I have a good friend lives round Sydney that I worked with over here in Canada for a couple years, and I am determined to pay him a visit someday. Doing some hunting there would be grand! Cheers. TC

That's actually her, photo with that fallow was from 2014. Don't have a more recent fallow as I missed a nice one last year with the muzzleloader and wounded and lost on this year!

The larger dog is my brothers gwp.

Some good hunting up there. They've had a lot of farm escapees in fallow and red through nsw over the past couple of decades which has produced some good genetics.

I'm not much for exotics, but fallow deer really appeal to me for some reason. Thanks for the pictures, I really enjoy seeing game from other parts of the world.

Welcome! I'm off to NZ in late January but, alas, the war department will not abide by any hunting while we're there.
