Default resistor needed for Led trailer lights

Thinking of changing my lights on a trailer over to LED's as they are a lot brighter. When buying the whole light assembly does a person need to buy resistors too? I am getting conflicting information from different folks in the stores when I have been in asking.

The resistors are not needed for your trailer. If you we're converting your tow unit you would either need to use resistors or purchase a digital flasher. The reason being that LED's do not draw enough current to make a standard flasher flash.

Edit. I should add that the extra load the LED's add to a tow units's circuit is usually not enough to require a heavy duty flasher that is normally needed when using incandescent bulbs. This is what causes the SLOW random flashing upon plugging in the trailer. Most places (not all) when adding a hitch to a vehicle will change the flasher to a heavy duty one. Factory tow packages also include a heavy duty flasher.
