Default 44,000 years ago last time Canadian arctic this warm

Of course this thread is going to lead into all sorts of accusations of science not being right, the projections wrong, that models are wrong, etc. etc.

That part already is a given.

So... those whose mind is already set that global warming is not occurring this additional information means nothing.

For the rest of us this confirms that there are real changes happening.

Climate change is perpetual, the question is what percentage is caused by man? (We always give ourselves too much credit..... or not enough)

Are they sure it was higher amounts of solar radiation that caused the last warming? Or were the neanderthals abusing there SUVs?

I think this will get us before global warming.

Ah avb3, you make me chuckle. Just because I'm skeptical of AGW does not mean I'm denying that there's any change happening.

......more ridiculous nonsense from the gullible. Haven't you heard?...'The Cause' was rebranded from 'Global Warming'...to oops , guess it's not really warming...."Climate Change'. It's not that it isn't 'warming, cooling, changing'...w.ever.tf you want to call it...the climate is a system in flux and
continuously dynamic......the natural signal in the climate is poorly understood at best....only arrogant alarmist/activists would think we can look at the last 150 years and make silly assumptions about a non-linear chaotic system (ie weather-climate-planetearth) with huge natural swings in temperature and natural C02 levels over huge spans of time.

Incidentally, 'projections & models' are validation of nothing...they do not confirm 'the science'....they are full of broad assumptions on 'climate drivers' and 'feedbacks' within them that are umproven. AGW itself is an unproven untested theory that lacks any empirical data to support it.

I am so sick of this AWG thing... in fact I don't see how it could be all bad.... Southern Alberta turns into Arizona.... Great Pronghorn and Elk hunting.,....

Edmonton turns into Billings Climate....maybe draw some experienced competent NHL talent (maybe even a goalie!)

Vancouver... under 8 feet of water....

Queen Charlottes turn into Hawaii!.....

Sounds like it could be good....

Ahhh yes I remember that Fall like it was only 20 000 yrs ago we were able to go out without our mammoth skin underwear on till almost December. There were too many people on the earth back then as I recall too. There was this one enviro guy always yakin about the end of the world too. I think his name was Sandstone Suzukigem . He didn't have much credibility though with his 5 caves and 12 kids

We are in an inter glacial period of the Pliocene-Quaternary glaciation that began 2.58 million years ago.During this time there have been many freezes and thaws lasting from 40 to 100,000 years. It`s a cycle, that`s all.We are just the most advanced peoples in history and thus able to notice and worry about it.It also appears that there have been 3 major "ice ages",starting from over a billion years ago.For the most part Earth has been almost entirely ice free, even on the highest mountain peaks.
We (the human race)have a timeline smaller than a piece of a grain of sand from all the beaches in the world combined.
SO......................don`t sweat it.We ain`t wrecking the weather,it`s wrecking us.And always will.

The future's so bright, I gotta wear shades.

Black and brown bears do just fine on land. Polar bears can too.

Were you there?!

Seriously 44k years is a blink of an eye in geological terms.

When, "Climate Science", starts to resemble science more than it does a cult, I'll start to take notice.

Ever wonder what the 'CC' stands for in the IPCC? (Hint: climate change). It never was the IPGW. Guess what...it's been that way since it started in 1988.

Who told you otherwise?

This study is not a projection. It is in fact not tomorrow either. It is science. It's real. It doesn't guess at anything. It is looking as what happened in the past, and comparison to what is on the ground today, and is not projecting anything otherwise.

Well, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I'm blowing this petro province for my true calling.

Realtor in Greenland.

If what avb parrots is true, it must be warmer in greenland now than when it was last populated.

Gonna strike it rich!

Science cannot prove fact....

Science is accepted hypotheses until disproven by fact....

They are judging the age of the ice cap that is melting and finding the plants that are preserved under it....

Heck My backyrd does the same every spring to reveal dandelions....

There is so much guesswork involved and then gets touted as "fact"....

So what exactly were the facts 1,000, 10,000, 100,000 years ago? I'm sure you're got it all documented in a pdf, right?

Last night was one of the coldest days for game 1 of the World Series, what does that say?

You guys are all wrong! Don't you read the Bible? The Earth is only 4,013 years old!

Seriously though, I got in a huge debate/fight with our deputy chief last night over this, he is 100% convinced that the earth is in it's infancy.

I didn't have the heart to call him (and every other religious zealot) an idiot, but........
