Acme says they have heart in their ads. On the south side.

Check the frozen bunks at superstore. in Calgary they quit carrying it fresh last year, but have it frozen in the section with livers, gizzards. Edmonton may be the same

I feed it as part of my bichirs diet and wish I could find it fresh as well

I do not know what the OP's plans are for the meat but I have cut heart thick like steak and cooked it like a medium rare steak and it has a very nice beefy taste. Much easier to handle than liver which I also eat from time to time.

I love heart but I braise it in brown sauce, it's got quite a sweet taste. It makes nice sanspdwiches too, moist roasted and sliced thin the next day

I have worked with beef heart for years. It is a very lean and dense meat.

I have often been tempted to try it and may one day. I use it to feed 2 foot long beasts

Sometimes all you need to do is ask at the meat counter. Best luck I have had is at Sobeys.

I make jerky out of moose and beef heart for my dog. Just meat slices in the dehydrator. Healthiest snack. Find it most grocery stores or butchers shops around here.

I don't always do it, but if I take the time to haul the heart and liver out, I will eat it and my dogs will have to settle for dog food or get what I have left over after I have my fill.
