Sure glad this type of technology was not around when we were young...holy crap we did some dumb things but it was and is just a story but now with these phones etc your one click away from complete exposure.

Where did you hear that ?

The charges were harassment , not murder !
They shot the cow after they rode her, being it was mid summer, calf probably didn't survive.(speculating on that part...)

Lets just say that I work in the field of environmental enforcement. There is a reason they were charged with hunting out of season, but since there was no cow left to use as evidence, it was dropped. He said vs He said sort of thing and plea bargains are the new game in town.

So, your saying that the guy who rode the Moose, and his buddies shot the Moose also? No offence, but I really find that hard to believe. Why was nothing reported about this, and how do you know they shot the Moose?

By the way, I hunted Ft. St. John in Sept. Really loved the area, though it was a very wet fall. Thought the Crying Girl campground was a very cool Moose camp.

Should not even have been investigated.
Harassing wildlife is against the law whether you think it's okay or not .

No, you said it shouldn't have been investigated , why because it was only a moose?
This is no different than someone chasing deer with a truck.

I see it as different.

My point is that if as much time and money was invested into solving crimes against children and vulnerable people as is incidents such as these, I feel society would be better off.

In no way am I condoning the harassment of wildlife, but sometimes incidents are not as dramatic as some would have them to be. The law is the law, which we are forced to abide by, but thankfully we are allowed to speak our mind concerning said laws.

Well at least its over and the courts can get to something useful. I think its a mole hill into a mountain case. Its illegal but lets not get too carried away.

That is like saying policeman don't fight fires. Stating the obvious.

If you don't understand what I am getting at, not sure what else to say.

If the BC Conservation office from FtSt John can scrape up the gas money for their pickup truck, they could drive up to the Pink Mountain Store on the Akaska Highway , take a look at the AUTHENTIC PICTURES of Mr Mills riding his " no less SADDLED young bull moose " then SIEZE the old photos from the 1970,s investigate , charge the co conspirators , the store, the locals and the moose ridding cowboy , waste thou$and$ of dollar$ , and tell themselves what a GREAT job they are doing protecting wildlife,

Just sad

Go ahead Then and chase deer with your truck, chase
Moose in your boat and whatever else you don't think the F&W is spending too much time and money on.
Your idea of respect for wildlife is about as low as it gets if you think what those idiots did was okay

If you are stupid enough to do what those idiots did, then you deserve the fines that they received. And publicizing that these idiots received these fines might just keep someone else from attempting such a stunt. As to whether the moose was later shot , I haven't seen proof that it was, but then again, since I don't have access to the inside information that some people have because of their occupation, I don't doubt that what they are saying is true. And this is not the first time that I have seen it mentioned that the cow was killed, so perhaps there is something to this?

Default part of truth is not truth

4000 for ride the moose? too much.

shoot the moose? another story. for 4000 only? I will like to shoot some this fall. you know, I need 10 years to get the tag in AB.

dont mess the two thing together.

Part of the truth is not truth.

My 2 cents.
