Default 2016 crop report ...

Went on a major tour of east of cowtown yesterday, I doubt I have ever seen
As much standing green crop on this date as I saw yesterday .
Talked to quite a few farmers , who weren't in the field , they seemed
Optimistic that all would come off well . We have had 9 hail storms in the Okotoks area but I didn't see a lot of damaged crops . Lots of peas and that's
Good...should be an excellent October.

In East central Alberta , if you don't have a grain dryer you aren't turning a wheel . Even so some grain is still to high in moisture to harvest . This next week things should pick up ! Side note the barley crops this year so far are unreal good in my area .

I should be real busy with Harvest opps right now, just starting to come in but i suspect the push to get going will be big real soon, a week of warm winds and it will be a combine rodeo out there. The implement dealers i have been to so far say their customers are hoping for an Indian summer. I too, still see lots of fields standing where they should be cut when i travel around for work.
