Default What are these?

Farmed animals, not wild. Never seen anything like them.

Or possible llama. There's tons of both in alberta. Surprised you never seen any before

I've helped shear alpacas before. I've never seen anything that looked like these. Ran it through google images and you're right though. Rastafarian alpacas by the look.
Ours look like this.

Spent some time in Peru and there were all different kinds. Huge variety in quality of the fibre and such. Sorta interesting. Never found the stuff to be as durable as regular wool.

Alpacas. They're farmed for their wool.

Same. Spent some time in Peru in 1979. I learned that they're not "Llamas" but rather "Yammas" lol. Phonetic pronunciation. Every time I pronounced them Llamas, I'd get laughed at.

I see cougar bait. Seriously, the cats seem to love the taste of them.

Llama.
A few are also farmed for their meat too. I know a farmer that just butchered a young one a month ago.

A few llamas amongst sheep or other livestock make good guard animals against coyotes and fox.
